It's a Christmas miracle - the beloved ice rink is returning!

Gather your friends and family for the chance to whirl around the open-air ice rink together. The ice rink is open from the 8th November until the 4th January, so book now!

This New Year’s Eve, Newcastle’s Quayside is the place to be as it transforms into the city’s biggest celebration… 

From 8.30pm, the Quayside will transform into a ticket-only party village, bursting with energy, entertainment and atmosphere. Expect incredible live music across two stages, roaming performers lighting up the streets, a vibrant mix of food stalls and lively bars serving up festive cheer (with plenty to purchase).

And when the clock strikes midnight, all eyes will turn to the Tyne for a spectacular firework finale, lighting up the city in unforgettable style to welcome in 2026.

In addition to the Howaymanay extravaganza, there will also be a free firework display for families on the Quayside at 6pm on New Year’s Eve, perfect for those who enjoy celebrating earlier in the evening.

Northumbria University’s city campus will be transformed into an intergalactic wonderland, complete with interactive installations, projections, light art, performance, and drop-in creative workshop encouraging guests to discover the magic and mystery of the universe. Even better, this cosmic voyage is designed for families, so stargazers of all ages can be inspired by the night sky, and enjoy some food and festive drinks afterwards too.
